You are worthy
Today we continue sharing lyrics to one of our songs, "Being in Your Presence." We pray God speaks to you in this time of reflection.
Our God is worthy.
When we recognize God as being worthy, we realize we are not. Worthy means: valuable, qualified, and deserving. Someone or something's worth is determined according to their function or who they are.
When we worship the Lamb of God, we are saying he is infinitely deserving of everything we have to offer. All praise, honor, energy, and attention - every part of us deeming Him worthy.
One of the songs we like to present in our concerts is Revelation Song by Kari Jobe. The beginning lyrics are "Worthy is the Lamb who was slain. Holy, Holy is He." Jesus is worthy because He is the Lamb who takes away our sin. Nothing we can ever do comes remotely close to what He has already done for us.
As we were searching for images to go along with this devotion, we came across many that spoke to a person being worthy of love just because of who they are. These images were encouragement to broken people needing affirmation.
He who is worthy just by virtue of who He is, has qualified us to be worthy of His love. Only God is truly worthy.
"Worthy are You, our Lord and our God, to receive glory and honor and power; for You created all things, and because of Your will they existed, and were created." (Revelation 4:11)
Great is the Lord and most worthy of praise; His greatness no one can fathom. (Psalm 145:3)
Lord, You are indeed worthy to be praised. We give You honor and glory for being the only One qualified to save us from our sin. You truly deserve our praise. We worship You alone. Amen.
