Framework of Our Hearts - August 28

People come and go all through our lives

They are temporary fixtures

In the framework of our hearts

Today we begin sharing a new song for the daily devotion.  It is a scratch recording we did a number of years ago titled You Are My Everything.  After sharing Being In Your Presence, it seems like a perfect segue.

As a couple, we take delight in having our relationship with each other and with our daughters and other family members.  Our daughters and other family members fill places in our hearts with gratitude and love.  They are special and no one else can take their place.

The lyrics from today song point to the fact that people who are in our lives may be important to us, but that those relationships are only temporary.  On the other hand, our relationship with the Lord of our hearts is eternal.

In reality, God is truly the only one who will never leave us or forsake us.  We can be grateful to Him for bringing special people into our lives, but we always need to keep our hearts fully trusting in Him.

It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in man. (Psalm 118:8)

He does not delight in the strength of the horse; He takes no pleasure in the legs of a man. (Psalm 147:10)

Lord, thank You for putting people into our lives to bless us.  We can see Your love for us through them.  Help us to always remember that You will never leave us.  Amen.
