“Forget the former things;
do not dwell on the past.
See, I am doing a new thing!
Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?
I am making a way in the wilderness
and streams in the wasteland.
(Isaiah 43:18-19 NIV)
We have not only reached the end of a year, but also of a decade. God, in His mercy, has given us a number of regularly occurring reset buttons. Each day only lasts 24 hours, and He gives us the gift of sleep to start each day fresh.
Reflecting on the past year, we can see God’s hand in the difficult times and also the joyful times. All of us have made mistakes, hopefully learning from those experiences, and many of us have also seen significant growth in our faith walk with the Lord in the past year.
For 2020, leave the past behind and move forward confidently seeking and acting on God’s will. As you seek to please God, He will lead you to new opportunities and help you to prosper and achieve success according to His will.
“Leave the broken, irreversible past in God's hands, and step out into the invincible future with Him.”
- Oswald Chambers
